steps
what you'll need: USB-C thumb drive (FAT32), same Boot Loader Mode process as Double Rainbow (RR/R2 share one firmware family)
1Download firmware .zip from quasarscience.com/pages/firmware; extract all files to root of FAT32 USB-C drive
2Power off the R2 fixture
3Press and hold ENTER, then press and hold POWER for 3 seconds to enter Boot Loader Mode
4Insert USB-C drive; fixture auto-installs Boot Loader update, then RR-R2 firmware
5DO NOT remove USB-C drive during update, wait for green LED flash and automatic reboot
6Verify at Config → Firmware
GotchaRR and R2 share the same firmware image, version applies to all R2 lengths (2ft Q25R2, 4ft Q50R2, 8ft Q100R2) GotchaBoot Loader must be at v1.0 before installing 0.9b; bootloader .bin is included in the download .zip GotchaWi-Fi module firmware is separate, requires wireless update via fixture's AP WarningDo NOT remove USB-C drive during update
