what you'll need: USB-C thumb drive (FAT32, files in root directory), fixture enters Boot Loader Mode
1Download the latest firmware .zip from quasarscience.com/pages/firmware and extract to the root of a FAT32USB-C drive (>2GB, sector size 512/1024/2048/4096 bytes; no NTFS or exFAT)
2Power off the fixture
3Press and hold ENTER, then press and hold POWER for 3 seconds to enter Boot Loader Mode (or navigate Config → Update Firmware → Enter)
4Insert the USB-C drive; the fixture installs Boot Loader first, then RR-R2 firmware, then TimoTwo firmware if .cci file present
5Wait for status LEDs to flash green, DO NOT remove the drive during update
6Fixture reboots automatically; verify new version at Config → Firmware
WarningCRITICAL: Do NOT remove USB-C drive during update, can brick the fixture
GotchaFirmware 0.9 (including 0.9a/0.9b) requires Boot Loader v1.0, fixtures on BL v0.9 or earlier MUST update bootloader first (it is included in the .zip)
GotchaIf screen freezes at '[Mounted the USB]', try a different USB drive brand
GotchaIf update is interrupted, hold ENTER while powering on to re-enter Boot Loader recovery mode
GotchaWi-Fi module requires a SEPARATE wireless update (connect to fixture's QS: WiFi AP, navigate to 192.168.4.1, credentials quasar/science for v1.0B+)
GotchaDouble Rainbow comes in 2ft (RR50) and 4ft (RR100) variants, both share the same firmware family
