what you'll need: RC4 CodeLoader 3.x software + RC4 CodeLoader cable. RC4 Commander NOT required (W-DIM is not compatible with RC4 Commander). Before flashing, turn off or un-pair the transmitter so the RF card disconnects.
1Download RC4 CodeLoader 3.3.3 for Mac or PC from https://rc4wireless.com/download/
2Download firmware zip 'Firmware_for_all_W-DIM_Devices_Aug2025' from https://rc4wireless.com/download/
3Connect the RC4 CodeLoader cable to a USB port on your computer
4Turn off (or un-pair) any Wireless Solution W-DMX transmitter the W-DIM is paired to, the RF card must be functionally disconnected before CodeLoading
5To un-pair manually: press and hold the RF button on the device for several seconds until the blue RF LED goes off
6Connect the 3.5mm end of the CodeLoader cable to the small receptacle on the W-DIM device
7Open RC4 CodeLoader, select the correct COM port for the cable, and select the device type to update
8Hold the Func button while applying power to the device, green COP LED illuminates solid (CodeLoader mode). You have 5 seconds to begin.
9Press 'Transmit Data' in CodeLoader. Progress bar crawls left to right. Device restarts when complete.
10Restore factory defaults: with device powered on, hold Func button and tap Set A button (NOT the RF button). Three LEDs blink simultaneously to confirm.
11Reconfigure the dimmer for your application
GotchaW-DIM IS A DISCONTINUED PRODUCT LINE, Aug2025 is likely the last firmware update ever. No future updates expected.
WarningRC4 Commander is NOT compatible with W-DIM, do not attempt to use it; use RDM for configuration instead
GotchaRF card must be disconnected (W-DMX transmitter off or device un-paired) before CodeLoading
GotchaAfter loading v118 or later firmware, device may enter a test mode (yellow DMXLED solid, no other indicators). Cycle power off/on to exit.
GotchaFactory defaults MUST be restored after every firmware update
WarningLoading wrong firmware file will not brick the device but causes rapid LED flashing, repeat with correct file
GotchaCodeLoader bundled firmware (4.129.0.1) may not be latest, always use the separate Aug2025 firmware zip from the downloads page
