steps

what you'll need: Charger-mediated: firmware is loaded onto the QUAD 6A charger via USB flash drive; charger then pushes firmware to batteries placed in charge slots
1Download the latest_fw_release_package.zip from https://www.antonbauer.com/en/product-support/download/
2Extract the ZIP and copy all contents (bin files, battUpdate.cfg, BootFromUSB.bch) to root of FAT32 USB flash drive
3Plug the USB flash drive into the USB port on the rear of the QUAD 6A charger
4The charger reads and verifies the update package
5Place batteries in the charger slots; charger evaluates each battery (alternating red/green LED)
6Charger will charge batteries to a minimum level if needed before updating
7During battery update, charger LEDs alternate flash (similar to evaluate mode)
8Do not remove a battery while LEDs are alternating, update is in progress
9Update completes when LEDs return to normal charging state
GotchaUpdate requires a QUAD 6A charger, cannot update batteries directly via USB on the battery itself
WarningDo not remove a battery from the charger while the LEDs are alternating (update in progress)
GotchabattUpdate.cfg maps battTypes: T and SL share the same firmware bin (Titon/Titon SL); XT = Dionic XT; HV and MSB are additional variants
GotchaCharger must have its own firmware updated first; older chargers may require update to support current battery firmware
GotchaFleet Management remote firmware push is listed as Coming Soon as of 2026-05-21, not yet available
GotchaSpecific per-version changelogs for handheld battery firmware are not published publicly on antonbauer.com
