what you'll need: USB-A to Micro-USB + Windows PC using DFUSec flashing tool (MIX 2.1 Upgrade Utility). Optional myMIX app (Bluetooth) for over-the-air update.
1Download MIX-CT-FLASHING-BANKS-V2.1.3.zip from https://us.rosco.com/sites/default/files/content/resource/2023-03/MIX-CT-FLASHING-BANKS-V2.1.3.zip and extract it. Do NOT reuse files from a previous flashing attempt.
2If this is a first-time flash on this PC: run lct_installer_1.exe inside the extracted folder to install the USB driver.
3Launch DFUSec.exe. Go to File menu and untick 'Lock LINK2 function'.
4Connect the MIX controller to a power supply. If it powers on, turn it OFF.
5Connect the MIX controller to the PC using a USB-A to Micro-USB cable.
6Enter update mode: press and hold the red dimmer button, then power on the controller while keeping the dimmer button held. Then release the dimmer button but keep the ON/OFF button pressed.
7In DFUSec, click Start to flash. Wait until both steps show completed in the log. Do not disconnect or interrupt during flashing.
8Power cycle the fixture and verify the new firmware version in the Settings menu.
WarningThe 2.1.0 update must be flashed in two steps, both are preconfigured in DFUSec; do not interrupt.
GotchaMIX flashing tool (DFUSec) is incompatible with the DMG DASH, use separate DASH firmware.
GotchaA separate CRMX2 chip upgrade (Crmx2_Update_v1-0-1.zip) is available for MINI/SL1 Drivers and MAXI fixtures, download from https://us.rosco.com/en/resource/dmg-mix-crmx2-firmware-update if CRMX2 LumenRadio upgrade is needed.
GotchaDMG Maxi, MAXI MIX, and Rosco DMG MAXI all refer to the same fixture; all use the MIX 2.x firmware train.
GotchamyMIX app (Bluetooth) can also push firmware over-the-air; connect to fixture in app and accept the update prompt.
