what you'll need: USB stick (Mini-USB male to USB-A female cable); two-step: driver first, then firmware. Firmware file must match exact model AND serial number range.
1STEP 1, DRIVER UPDATE: Copy the .drv driver file to root of USB stick (never inside a folder). Do NOT rename the file.
2Ensure EVO panel is in CCT mode.
3Connect USB stick via Mini-USB male to USB-A female cable.
4With EVO turned OFF, simultaneously press the button and turn ON the unit.
5Wait for 'DRIVER UPDATE DONE!' on display, then power cycle.
6STEP 2, FIRMWARE UPDATE: Copy the correct .frm firmware file to root of USB stick. Match file to exact model (EVO 1/2/2x2, IP54/Studio) AND serial number range (before/after cutoff, see gotchas).
7Turn EVO ON in CCT mode.
8Navigate: Settings > ABOUT > FIRMWARE UPDATE, then press to start.
9Connect USB stick when prompted by the display.
10Wait for 'UPDATE DONE!', panel reboots automatically with new firmware.
GotchaSerial number splits: EVO 1 IP54 cutoff at 00190; EVO 1 Studio cutoff at 00080/000800; EVO 2 IP54 cutoff at 00523; EVO 2 Studio cutoff at 00498; EVO 2x2 IP54 cutoff at 00190. Units before/after cutoff use different firmware files.
GotchaEVO 2x2 Studio only has firmware v1.51 listed (EVO2X2_ST_V0151.frm), may not have been updated to v1.53 yet; check support page for updates.
GotchaDriver update MUST be done before firmware update, skipping driver step can cause issues.
WarningNever rename firmware or driver files.
GotchaFirmware files are .frm format; driver files are .drv format.
Gotcha'VELVET EVO' in this tracker maps to the entire EVO series (EVO 1, EVO 2, EVO 2x2), EVO is a product line, not a single model. Serial-number-split applies.
