what you'll need: Download .hex file matching display color variant; connect fixture via mini USB to Mac or Windows desktop app; upload firmware
1Download Mac or Windows HiveUpgradeTool app from https://hivelighting.com/support/firmware/
2Download the correct .hex file: use 3.0.8A if your backcap display is GREY; use 3.0.8B if your backcap display is BLACK
3Open the Hive Lighting desktop app and connect the fixture to your computer with a mini USB cable
4Power on the fixture using its supplied power supply (DMX or Local mode both work)
5Mac: use the dropdown to select the USB com port labeled 'usb.modemXXXX'; Windows: click Connect
6Verify 'Device Connected' status in the app
7Select the downloaded .hex firmware file
8Click 'Upload Firmware' and wait 10+ seconds for completion
9Detach USB cable and power cycle the fixture
